When researching where to buy a property and when it’s a good time to sell, it’s helpful to know which suburbs have performed the best over the past year, and what property market trends to look out for.
Recently, CoreLogic RP Data revealed the suburbs across Australia that had the highest rental yields and highest median values for 2015.
Highest rental yields
For when it came to rental yield, according to the data, South Kempsey, on the New South Wales mid-north coast was the highest yielding suburb for houses. The suburb had a median value of $179,449 and a gross rental yield of 9.7 per cent. In the unit market, Berri in South Australia came in first with a median value of $117,044 and a rental yield of 9.7 per cent.

- Gagebrook, TAS: Median house value of $138,342, rental yield of 8.7%

Most expensive suburbs
Sydney dominated the list of Australia’s most expensive suburbs, with nine out of the top 10 most expensive suburbs for houses coming from the New South Wales city. The only exception was Peppermint Grove in Western Australia, which came in at number ten.
In the unit market, the top ten were made up of Sydney suburbs.
